2016-look out for barley grass!
Welcome to 2016! We are back on deck with our normal work hours and welcome all enquiries about your pets health. At this time of year we often see dogs presented to us with grass seeds that have penetrated beneath the skin. Removal usually requires an anaesthetic and minor surgery to remove them.
Remember to check the commonly affected areas after a day out such as, between the toes, in and behind the ears and in the axillae (armpit area). Grass seeds less commonly affect cats but we do sometimes see cats with seeds, often painfully caught behind the eyelids.
